My dearest D.R. - doesn't it make you feel a teeny bit grumpy to know that Thriller is cutting edge? Sigh!

The north sounds amazing, can't wait to go check it out yo. Also - I'm really looking forward to doing a proper vintage scour of Japan next year - with a guide. Oh and and and - South Island on your return - let's hit up some small town vintage?

P.S. All these places I've visited do have their Gems. Amber, you must visit Stockholm, the vintage collections are unbelievable. And Helsinki has a tonne to offer, but it feels more hidden here. Lucky I had a good guide :)

Leather jackets and skinny jeans/tights are what's going on in Europe in a big way. At least in the North from what I see. And boots for girls are out of control.

In fact, yesterday on my rearrival to Helsinki, I saw a guy and a girl, both in black chucks, black skinny jeans, black leather jacket, black chin length trendo-hair, black woolen knit beanies, and both with black shoulder bags. I swear you could have just swapped the outfits and you would be none the wiser. The only different was the guy was slightly taller.

Talk about walking together.

Maybe it's lucky I have no hair which automatically excludes me from any fashion sense in thaat regard :P

One thing I love here though, is the good amount of individual style shoes. I wish I wasn't backpacking, I would have so many!!

Ginny, it's a little bit scary isn't it? It's possibly just their hormones instructing them to stick to the pack mentality (different = bad, right?) so I hope they'll probably grow out of it :) Anyway, I'm sure everything at your store is OMG LOVE. You'll know when I visit - I'll be the squealing girl, haha.

Oh thanks for your other delightful comment too! xo

Word. I had a group of giggling 15 years olds in store recently & it really highlighted everything you've just noted. They were teenage clones. It was fascinating to watch them seek such approval from each other, & not one was willing to try anything the others didn't "OMG looooove"

Friends in Aus tell me the same thing about Sydney & Brisbane too- there is a uniform! checked shirt dress, leggings, tan.

I went to an all girls high school with a uniform and on mufti day it was scary! Everyone wore exactly the same thing- at the time it was Lee bootleg jeans & Ricochet polarfleece jumpers. Ace!

Oh & I have "nominated" you for a blog award, check it out. X
